Answers to questions

Answers to questions

Why do you need a hardware wallet?

A hardware wallet keeps private keys offline and signs transactions on the device. Keys never touch the internet even when using an infected computer. Recommended for large amounts.

Ledger or Trezor - which to choose?

Both are market leaders. Ledger supports more coins and has Bluetooth (Nano X). Trezor is open source with a strong reputation. Choose by the coins you need, price, and interface preference.

What is a mnemonic and why keep it secret?

A mnemonic (seed phrase) is 12 or 24 words that restore all wallet keys. Whoever knows the phrase owns the funds. Never share it or enter it on websites or apps other than the wallet itself.

Can one wallet be used for different cryptocurrencies?

Yes. Ledger, Trezor, SafePal, Tangem and others support many coins in one device. Bitcoin-only wallets (e.g. Electrum) are for BTC only.
